Securities clearing system is an electronic system for safe custody of securities characterized with the features specified by CBI. In addition to electronic-based custodial services for securities, the system also maintains a record of the holder’s name and identification. Only banks having access to the system may trade the securities stored in the system on own account or on behalf of their customers.
