In the auspicious occasion of the Birth of the Holy Ma'asoumeh (s), the president, accompanied by Ministries of Economy, Labour and Social Affairs, State, Governors of Provinces and Managing Directors of the banks, attended a meeting at the BMJII auditorium. In this meeting, which was prevailed by a very sincere atmosphere and hosted by the governor, members of the executive board and the senior managers of the BMJII, the economic viewpoints of the Ninth Government, namely being justice-centered, ensuring fair distribution of facilities among provinces, reduction of costs, prevention of violations, treating people compassionately, rendering services to the public, assigning more significant roles to the banks in attaining the sustainable development, prosperity  and creating occupation were expressed by President Ahmadinajad.

Dr. Ahmadinejad: When justice is neglected, growth of sustainable and full-scale development is prevented

The President, Dr. Ahmadinejad, stated that: banking network resembles in function to blood vessels in human body that circulate blood (money) to the entire body. We must encourage quick-yielding and small industries through adopting proper policies, and this is to be done by the banks. That is why glory, identity, independence and future progress of the country is greatly dependent on these institutions.

Mr. President stated that: The Islamic Revolution forms the distinct characteristic of our country, without which we have no recognition. Our dignity is conferred only when we could materialize the ideals of the Revolution, and honor the memory of Imam Khomeini and the martyrs of the revolution.

He called corruption to be the major obstacle to investment and stressed that: corruption puts security of capital and investment in danger.

Dr. Ahmadinejad then made remarks on the atmosphere of sympathy that prevails the relation between the government and the banking system and said: government is determined to make reforms and I am grateful in this regard for the banking system efforts. He added: in order to accelerate process of works and implementation of projects, the entire government branches must co-operate with each other in making reforms. This is for the benefit of the banking system as well.

Dr. Ahmadinejad in the speech addressing the banks’ authorities: working in banking system is difficult accompanied by higher degree of tension compared to other departments; hence, the banking staff, in order to perform their duties in a precise and correct fashion, need to be mentally calm and secure. Reduce consumption expenses and be more attentive to banking system employees, because they are the ones who stand in the front line of providing services to the public.

Mr. President stressed that: the country suffers from high management cost rates. These rates must be reduced to lower levels, but this does not imply deduction in the salary of the employees.

Mr. President, while stating that banking news receives topmost attention of the people and the media, further pointed out: therefore not even a single instance of breach of regulations should occur, because it endangers the credibility of the banking system and security of investment, thus turning the sweetness of all the efforts into bitter failure.
